When Awareness Expands, the World Looks Different
There is a quiet shift that happens when awareness begins to expand.
At first, it is subtle.
You may notice that your reactions change.
The things that once bothered you no longer hold the same weight.
You start observing life instead of constantly reacting to it.
It is almost as if the volume of the world lowers, and your perception sharpens.
Awakening is not just about learning new ideas or adopting spiritual language.
It is about seeing reality differently.
And when that happens, the world begins to reveal layers that were always there — you just couldn’t perceive them before.
✨ Patterns become clearer
✨ Intuition becomes louder
✨ Synchronicities appear more often
✨ Energy becomes something you can actually feel
Many people think expanded awareness only affects how we perceive other people or situations. But sometimes it reaches into places we would never expect.
Sometimes… it reaches into the animal kingdom.
And occasionally, it leads to moments that are both profound and completely hilarious.
🐎 The Day I Apparently Started Talking to a Horse
My husband and I were in Mexico and decided to do one of those beautiful excursions where you ride horses along a trail that eventually leads to the ocean.
Now let me say this upfront.
I had never ridden a horse before in my life.
So when they assigned me my horse, I was already feeling a little apologetic for whatever this poor animal was about to experience.
As soon as I got on the horse, I mentally said to him,
"I’m sorry if I’m a little heavy for you."
Immediately, I heard a response.
Not in a dramatic, movie-style voice.
More like a thought that clearly wasn’t mine.
The response was:
"I’ve had heavier."
😆
And that’s when I realized something.
This horse had personality.
A very dry, sarcastic personality.
🐎 Conversations I Did Not Expect to Have
Throughout the ride, I could feel that the horse and I were… communicating.
Not through spoken words the way humans speak, but through impressions, thoughts, and feelings that translated almost instantly in my mind.
At one point, my horse started lagging a little behind the group.
Suddenly I heard him say:
"Hold on, I have to catch up with the rest of the group."
I barely gripped my hands around the reins…
He bolted forward to catch up with everyone.
Now remember…
I had never ridden a horse before.
But somehow, this horse had just given me a heads-up that he was about to speed up.
And he absolutely did. 😂
Confirmation from the Caretaker
Later, the caretaker of the horses started telling me about the horse I rode.
His name was Tuco.
He smiled and said,
"Tuco is lazy. He usually likes to hang back and not go as fast as the rest of the group."
At that moment I just started laughing.
Because that was exactly what had happened.
Tuco had basically said,
"Give me a second, I need to catch up."
And then took off.
🐾 Awareness Sometimes Expands Beyond Humans
Later on, I spoke with a pet psychic who confirmed something interesting.
Apparently, some people naturally have the ability to communicate with animals energetically.
Not every animal.
Not all the time.
But certain animals are very open to it.
Animals communicate through energy, emotion, and intention, and when human awareness expands, sometimes we begin to perceive that language.
It is less like hearing spoken words and more like receiving meaning instantly.
The same way you can walk into a room and immediately feel the mood of the people inside.
Animals exist in that energetic awareness naturally.
Humans are usually the ones who have forgotten how to access it.
🌿 This Is Not New Knowledge
Although these experiences may feel unusual in modern society, the idea that humans can communicate with animals and plants is not new at all.
In many Indigenous cultures around the world, this understanding has existed for centuries.
Nature is not viewed as separate from humans.
It is viewed as a living system of communication.
For example:
🌿 The Shipibo-Conibo people of the Amazon work closely with plant medicine traditions. In their culture, plants are considered teachers. Shamans learn directly from plants through dreams, dietas, and ceremonial relationships with the forest.
🌿 The Kogi people of Colombia believe that nature communicates constantly with human beings. Their spiritual leaders, known as Mamos, spend years learning how to listen to the earth, animals, and plants in order to maintain balance with nature.
🌿 The Lakota and other Plains Indigenous nations in North America traditionally view animals as relatives and teachers. Animal behavior, presence, and movement are interpreted as communication and guidance.
🌿 Australian Aboriginal cultures have long held the understanding that animals, land, and plants exist within a shared consciousness known as the Dreaming. Communication with nature is considered part of maintaining harmony with the land.
🌿 The Matsés and other Amazonian tribes speak of plant spirits and animal teachers that guide humans in healing practices.
In many of these traditions, speaking with animals or learning from plants is not considered mystical or strange.
It is simply a relationship with the natural world.
Modern society, in many ways, has simply forgotten how to listen.
🥬 When I Walked Into the Grocery Store and Felt the Food
Expanded awareness also comes with something unexpected.
You begin to feel the energy of environments.
And sometimes… even the energy of food.
One day I walked into a very popular grocery store.
As I passed through the fruits and vegetables section, something unusual happened.
I suddenly felt sad.
Not emotional sadness.
More like a feeling of depletion.
Low energy.
Diminished vitality.
It was such a strong sensation that I paused for a moment.
And immediately a realization surfaced.
The fruits and vegetables around me did not feel alive.
Their natural vitality felt muted — almost as if the life energy that should have been present in them had been diminished somewhere along the way.
And I immediately thought:
If food is not grown in soil that truly nourishes it…
If it is not sourced in a way that allows the earth to feed it properly…
Then the food itself may not carry the same energetic vitality it once did.
And if we consume food that has lost much of its life force…
It suddenly makes sense why so many people walk through life feeling depleted.
Almost like a zombie-like state of low energy.
This wasn’t a judgment.
It was simply an observation.
A moment of awareness.
And a reminder that what we consume matters.
Not just nutritionally.
But energetically.
🌿 Awakening Changes How You Experience Life
These were not outcomes I expected when awareness began expanding.
No one tells you that awakening might involve conversations with horses or suddenly noticing the energy of vegetables.
But that is the nature of expanded awareness.
It reveals layers of life we once overlooked.
It deepens sensitivity.
It sharpens perception.
And most importantly, it invites us to move through the world more consciously.
To notice what we consume.
To notice what we feel.
To notice the subtle communication happening all around us.
Because consciousness is not limited to human beings.
It moves through everything.
Animals.
Plants.
Nature.
Energy.
Food.
Life itself.
And sometimes…
If you listen closely enough…
A horse named Tuco might just talk back.
🐎🌿✨
